"Laughing makes everything in life way better.". I suppose it could be true.. even if it's just laughing for the sake of a picture perfect candid.
Okay, so now, I'm taking you to my second episode of Hello Journal. In case you're wondering what Hello Journal is, it is basically about how my particular day went. However, I'd like to talk about these girls and our friendship today.
Brief background, I've known a few of them ever since I was little (little as in primary school little and even kindergarten little) and some of the others when I got into middle school. Surprisingly, we've managed to go through 6 years without huge dramas and fights and we've been good good friends ever since. Pretty cool, right?
I love my girls. I truly am grateful to have met them. It's never a dull day with these gals. We don't really hang out a lot but when we do, we spend a lot of hours and hours of catching up, jokes, gossips and what not. When most of us got back to Indonesia, we will always make time to meet up. Even when I went back to Jakarta a few days back, we managed to keep our plans and meet up. It was just the 9 of us (it was supposed to be 11 but the other 2 couldn't make it), we decided to go karaoke and dinner after. You know how girls are in the karaoke, we were undeniably crazy as we danced and 'screamed' throughout the whole 3 hours. From singing our hearts out during Sam Smith's Not The Only One to breaking and locking during BIGBANG's Bang Bang Bang. Though the 3 hours felt like 3 years, getting to spend it with the people you love is a great thing after all. I felt really drained due to my unnecessary dance moves and screams, but then I was feeling relaxed as well. What an irony. I mean, sure it was tiring as heck but I was more than happy to surround myself with these girls.
However, that relaxing feeling was shifted to loneliness when the song See You Again by Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth came on.
"All the planes we flew
Good things we've been through
That I'll be standing right here talking to you
'Bout another path
That I'll be standing right here talking to you
'Bout another path
I know we loved to hit the road and laugh
But something told me that it wouldn't last
Had to switch up
But something told me that it wouldn't last
Had to switch up
Look at things different, see the bigger picture
Those were the days
Hard work forever pays
Now I'll see you in a better place."
Those were the days
Hard work forever pays
Now I'll see you in a better place."
It got me thinking about how fast time flies.
As I mentioned earlier, I've known these girls for so long yet it really doesn't feel like it. I still remember how we all looked like and how we first met. We were wearing our school uniforms talking about useless things, yet, we found ourselves bringing up the 'future' topic these days. We went from, "Zac Efron is so cute!" to "How's your application going? What are you gonna major in? What do you want to do in the future?". Clearly, we are being overly pressured over the thoughts of growing up and being apart, thoughts of living independently and dealing with stress all by ourselves.
Over the years, time was never a problem in our friendship, until now. We used to have the whole day for ourselves but now we have only weeks or even days to hang around since some of us has to go back abroad for our studies. Even a few other girls were not here :(
We are all too busy thinking about future. We're the so-called rebellious generation, we can't help but wonder if we will be able to make good changes to the world. Nevertheless of our negative minds taking over, I believe we will all make it through life as influential individuals. I believe we will prove everyone who judge us, wrong. Yep, they'll see.
Best of luck for our coming university lives.
I pray for all of us to reach our dreams and to be the successful millennials!
Love you long time babes.

See yaa xx
